About Us

Perry VanderLoop is a downtown Appleton, Wisconsin merchant marching in his father’s footsteps. Perry’s been at it since 1976. He started by stocking shelves at age 14 when his father ran his first store in Kaukauna. In 2005 Perry and Jill VanderLoop bought the Appleton store from Perry’s father and mother continuing the tradition of providing excellent service. Joseph’s Shoes has been in Appleton since 1982 after having started in Kaukauna in 1971.

The 4,000 square foot shop carries a huge inventory including over 50 different brands of shoes and accessories. The staff at Joseph’s still measures customers’ feet and addresses various foot issues which is why we come highly recommended by local podiatrists.

Perry said his father is “an incredible shoe guy. We just want to carry on the tradition.” According to Jill, “Those are big shoe prints to fill.” The entire staff at Joseph’s Shoes is well versed in quality footwear.
